As we reported last week, there was something off about rapper Fabolous’ announcement that he and his longtime girlfriend and mother of his children, Emily Bustamante, were working things out. It was in response to a story TMZ ran saying not only were the two done but Fabolous had started dating another woman. There were pictures of Fab and another woman at a restaurant together. Celebrities are known to refute rumors regarding their personal life. But in this case, given the documented infidelity and violence from the rapper over the course of their 15-year relationship, it was strange that he’d suddenly offer explanations to the public.
While he vehemently denied a split and spoke about fighting for his woman, Bustamante remained silent. But one of her recent Instagram stories has people thinking that there was some truth to those rumors after all.
The post, which came somewhere from the internet, read:
“This often offends people when I say this but I don’t care. My mental health is a priority over any friendship or relationship. I’ll lose anyone and anything before I lose my mind.”
In her own words, Bustamante wrote: “This has been my mood all year!”
The post is potentially telling but we’re not entirely certain it means that the two have called it quits. Still, the timing of this type of share–and using Instagram, where Fabolous went to deny the rumors could also be significant. Whether it was the cheating or the realization that she deserves a man who won’t put his hands on her, we’re hopeful that she’s seeing the light.
What do you make of Emily’s post? Do you think this means she’s finally leaving?
